Golden Graduates Reunite

Cherishing Memories and Milestones

The Western New England Alumni Association hosted the Golden Graduates Luncheon on Wednesday, June 26, to celebrate the significant milestone of 50+ years since graduation from Western New England University (WNE). Golden Graduates fondly reflected on their time at WNE, relived the memories of a now changed institution, and reconnected with friends sharing stories of prized past times.

The event brought together Golden Bears from 11 different class years, ranging from 1963 to 1974 – many of whom have not been back to their alma mater for over half a century. Although the campus landscape has evolved, alumni were reassured that WNE has consistently maintained its commitment to fostering close, personal connections among students, faculty, and staff mentors—connections that many of them fondly recalled. This strong bond is what continually attracts students to the University and keeps them engaged throughout their time here. Shaina Cooney, a senior Health Sciences major with a minor in Chemistry, shared her experiences at WNE; highlighting the endless opportunities and preparation the University has provided to ensure she and fellow students have the best experience possible, both in and out of the classroom.
